Terms of service
These terms are an agreement between you and Aaron Art Asperilla, an individual based in the Philippines who builds and operates kyrou ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using kyrou you agree to them.
The service
kyrou is a local-first day planner for Windows (downloaded directly from our GitHub releases) and Android (Google Play). Your tasks, projects, routines and notes are stored on your device. If you sign in with your Google account, they also sync to our servers when you are online. Some features (sync, Google Classroom, Kyrou AI) need an account.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 to use kyrou, or older if the law where you live requires it (in some EU countries the age is up to 16).
Plans and subscriptions
- Free is $0 for as long as your account exists, with limits: 1 active routine, 2 projects, 3 repeating tasks and 1 alarm, plus unlimited tasks and subtasks, HUD and cloud sync.
- Mid ($6.99 per month) raises those limits to 5 routines, 6 projects and 9 repeating tasks, with unlimited alarms and Google Classroom for up to 2 courses. Pro ($8.99 per month) removes the limits on routines, projects, repeating tasks and alarms, adds full Google Classroom and priority access to upcoming beta tools. Prices may be shown in your local currency.
- Mid and Pro are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Each starts with a 7-day free trial: cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged.
- If you cancel or downgrade to Free, nothing is deleted. Your existing data keeps working, but you cannot add more routines, projects, repeating tasks or alarms beyond the Free limits until you upgrade again.
- Purchases on kyrou.org and in the desktop app are handled by Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record for those orders. Paddle provides customer service for billing inquiries and handles returns, and its buyer terms apply to your purchase.
- Purchases in the Android app are made through Google Play Billing, and Google's terms and refund rules apply to them.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period, and we will tell you in advance.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.
Your data
What you put in kyrou is yours. You give us permission to store, sync and process it only as needed to run the service. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
Google Classroom
Google Classroom integration (Beta) is optional. You choose whether to connect it and can disconnect it at any time. It reads your courses and coursework from Google and imports assignments as tasks. Your use of Google services stays subject to Google's own terms, and how we handle that data is described in the privacy policy.
Kyrou AI
Kyrou AI (Beta) is optional and available to signed-in users on desktop and Android. It turns typed text into tasks, answers questions about your schedule, proposes changes and finds times. How it works and what is sent is explained in the AI policy.
- AI output can be wrong, including dates, times and what it thinks you meant. Review every proposed change before you confirm it. Unless you turn on "Auto apply changes", changes are applied only when you press Confirm.
- Kyrou AI is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). You are responsible for what you do with its output and for the changes you confirm.
- Usage limits apply and depend on your plan: Free 20 requests per week, Mid 15 per day, Pro 30 per day. Limits may change; the app shows your current usage. We may change limits or the feature as it develops in Beta.
- The acceptable use rules below apply to AI features too.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- use kyrou for anything illegal;
- abuse or attack the service or the AI features, for example by overloading or probing our servers, or by trying to make the AI produce harmful or unlawful content;
- get around usage limits, plan limits or the paywall;
- scrape the service, or reverse engineer or copy our API, except where the law lets you do so regardless of this clause;
- put other people's personal data into kyrou unless you have the right to;
- commit fraud, including chargeback abuse, or share an account to resell access.
If you break these rules we may respond in proportion to the problem: a warning, rate limiting, suspension or termination of your account. Where practical, we will tell you why before acting.
Availability
We work to keep kyrou running and your data safe, but kyrou is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we recommend keeping your own copies of anything important. You can export your tasks, projects and routines from Settings → Backup & data → Export.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country of residence.
Ending your account
You can stop using kyrou and delete your account at any time. How to do it, and what happens to your data and subscription, is explained in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use kyrou after that means you accept the new terms. Earlier versions are kept under "Previous versions" below.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.
